Turk Places

On this page we would like to start a list and study where possible all Towns, Cities, Counties etc. that have the name Turk in them.  Of course any Turk variation will work!  Do you know of such towns?  Do you have research on the town history and how it got its name?  Please send us any information about Places called Turk.

In the Gorski Kotar region of Croatia, there is a village called TURKE, right on the Kupa river.

History of Turckheim - It's wine country!

Turk Mountain Vineyards are located in Afton, Virginia USA at 8982 Dick Woods Road phone 540-456-8252.

Turk Mountain and Turk Gap are two prominent geographical features overlooking the southern end of the Shenandoah Valley in Augusta Co., adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway, about 15 miles west northwest of Charlottesville, VA, where my branch of the family settled after migrating from Ireland. Turks and Caicos Islands

1. Turkston in Monroe County, AL.

2. Turksville in Ellis County, KS

Of course then there is the fairly well-known TURK Street in San Francisco, CA.

There are two small towns close to Stuttgart, Germany; which are called:

Unter Turkheim,
Ober Turkheim.

I think there should also be a willage in Belgium called Turk-something.
I am sure that Turk places in Turkey, Turkmenistan etc. are interesting for
you.
There is a city in Finland called "TURKI" or something close
